Lost On The River, the new album from The New Basement Tapes, is available now. Produced by T Bone Burnett, Lost On The River was written and performed in creative collaboration by Elvis Costello, Rhiannon Giddens (Carolina Chocolate Drops), Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), Jim James (My Morning Jacket) and Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons). The artists and Burnett gathered in Capitol Studios in March to write and create music for a treasure trove of recently discovered lyrics handwritten by Bob Dylan in 1967 during the period that generated the recording of the legendary Basement Tapes.
As part of The New Basement Tapes project with Jim James, Elvis Costello, Marcus Mumford, T Bone Burnett, and Rhiannon Giddens, Taylor will be performing on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on November 10, Ellen on November 14, and Jimmy Kimmel Live on November 19. The album, Lost On The River, will be released November 10 (iTunes, Amazon, exclusive box set) and can be streamed until that date on iTunes Radio.
“Liberty Street” is part of The New Basement Tapes project and is out today. Taylor wrote the music to recently discovered lyrics written by Bob Dylan. Hear Taylor perform the song below.
